Graham Cannady of Dallas graduates from Rice University

Graham Cannady of Dallas, TX, graduated May 15 from Rice University.

Cannady received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History.

Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank in Bangladesh and author of the best-seller "Banker to the Poor: Micro-Lending and the Battle Against World Poverty," delivered the commencement address.

Rice University President David Leebron congratulated the graduates with a handshake as they walked across the stage.

This year Rice awarded 1,582 degrees, including 797 undergraduate and undergraduate professional degrees and 785 graduate degrees (master's and Ph.D.).

The Class of 2010 is the 97th graduating class in Rice's history.

Located in Houston, Rice University is consistently ranked one of America's best teaching and research universities. Rice will celebrate its centennial year in 2012.
